Major Moscow's Attacks Cut Electricity In Kyiv

Power facilities targeted in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased attacks in the past few days

During the night, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in power cuts in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with problems to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southern area, as reported by regional authorities.

Moscow has intensified assaults on electrical systems over the past few days, while the country's government has requested "real steps" from allies to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but decisive action - from the US, European nations and the G7 - in delivering air defence systems and enforcing sanctions," he wrote in a social media post.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and several dozen rockets attacked the country's power systems, describing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were striving to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles hit power facilities and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people wounded in the attacks on the city have been hospitalized, as confirmed by municipal representatives.

Local officials said the urban area came under significant strikes throughout the evening. A seven-year-old child was killed and multiple civilians were hurt.

The strikes come after periods of aerial attacks in the region, sections of which remain under the control of invading troops.

The entire country is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to identify.

Government officials told journalists that Moscow was purposely seeking to damage the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already affecting energy systems.

He said energy workers and authorities were preparing for more assaults.
